I AM PLEASED BEYOND WORDS TO ANNOUNCE THAT I’VE JOINED THE PERCIUS FAMILY! IT’S AN AMAZING THING TO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT YOUR CRAFT AND SAY, “I BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND I WANT TO BE A PART.” IT’S THE ULTIMATE COMPLIMENT AND I AM EXCITED FOR WHAT SUCH A PARTNERSHIP MIGHT MEAN.

When I was in the first grade at spring Shadows Elementary, I won my first composition contest. At the time–and when I was well into college–I thought everybody had music in their heads. It didn’t seem weird to me that I was in constant pursuit of getting those melodies out of my thoughts and onto paper. the earliest days of transcription were nourished by my piano teacher, Kirtsy Mitchell, who listened intently as I played, writing down the notes and showing me what my ideas looked like in real life. Then she would guide my chunky little hand as we wrote those things out together.

But the real gift is that my parents let me explore and tinker (and fail) freely. I had the world’s greatest playground and the world’s most ardent supporters, and that was the foundation for any success I might experience today. Ideas weren’t always cohesive or attractive, but when they spilled from my head to the piano my mom never failed to lavish praise, as though she’d just heard the genius of Beethoven.

If you asked 7 year old Taylor about whether or not artist representation would happen, he would confidently say yes. If you ask middle age Taylor about this latest evolution in his career, he would say he’s living a dream
